Ayya Anandabodhi & Ayya Santacitta | Saranaloka Summer Online Retreat (3:00 pm – 5:00 pm PT; US)

Ayya Anandabodhi & Ayya Santacitta welcome you to join as a community, creating a supportive container for grounding and resourcing within your own homes and hearts. In these times of great challenge, this retreat will be focusing on developing the Four Brahma Viharas (kindness, compassion, appreciative joy, and evenness) and Earth based practices for connection and healing.
The retreat will include chanting, meditation, and daily Dhamma teachings by Ayya Santacitta and Ayya Anandabodhi, with opportunities for Q&A. Lissa Edmond will offer live movement sessions to support ease and well-being during the retreat.
Between the formal online sessions, we will provide a suggested schedule of sitting and walking meditation to support your sustained practice at home. We encourage you to engage in your home activities with the same care, restraint, and mindfulness as if you were at a retreat center.
Here is a link to the Daily Schedule.
During this retreat, and throughout your lives, we encourage you to follow the Five Precepts, which are:
To refrain from…
1) Intentionally taking the life of any living creature – Harmlessness

2) Taking that which is not given – Trustworthiness

3) Sexual misconduct – Respect and Care

4) False and harmful speech – Truthfulness

5) Consuming intoxicating drink and drugs which lead to carelessness – Clarity of Mind

Continuing in the ancient Buddhist tradition, the retreat and teachings are offered freely. In turn, retreatants have the opportunity to support those teaching the Dhamma, and making the retreat available, by offering donations (dana) to the Saranaloka Foundation and the retreat manager, Kathy Cheney. The movement teacher, Lissa Edmond, will receive compensation for their guidance from the Saranaloka Foundation.
