Anukampa Bhikkhuni Project | Special Monastery Zoom Meeting (9:00 am – 11:00 am GMT, UK)
Special Monastery Zoom Meeting
Unlike a retreat centre that you may visit for a week, a monastery provides an opportunity to be in contact with Dhamma teachers and spiritual friends all year round and we are very excited for this chance to grow together! Furthermore, the set-up of a monastery ~ based on reciprocal support between the monastic and lay community, invites the practice of the whole Eightfold Noble Path ~ on the cushion and in our daily life interactions.
Our new Monastery will create many more opportunities to benefit your practice by being part of our community. For instance, there will be roles for stewards and other longer-term guests, opportunities for locals to help with transport, for regular volunteers to work in the garden and grounds, to provide building and maintenance help, and participate in a good old monthly deep clean! Additionally, for visitors coming from afar, we are intending to hold a monthly open-day to give you an opportunity to offer lunch, meet a monastic and practice Dhamma among the lay community!
With the nearest shop a half-hour walk away, we will also be more reliant on shopping deliveries than guests (who can so far nip out to the shop). We may therefore need a new system and operations manager for this.
To celebrate, share more about the Monastery and invite feedback on ways we can grow into this big step, we are inviting you to a very special Zoom event on Saturday January 13th from 9:00 – 11:00 GMT! You can expect some Dhamma discussion, group conversation ~ and a very special guest!
